Whilst most Ring fans will be aware of the Arthur Rackham series of illustrations, you might not have come across the 30 paintings produced by artidt Ul De Rico, an Italian artist mostly known for illustrating childrens books. His 30 detailed works were used to illustrate a 1980 coffee table book which featured his own simplified retelling of The Ring story along with the 30 plates.
These are striking images which ilustrate various events in the cycle, often squeezing two or three story points into a single picture – most are split into upper and lower perspectives, showing what is happening in different locations.
The book is now out of print and copies can be hard to find, but do come up on eBay from time to time. I’m very pleased to be able to share all 30 images from my copy below. Click n a gallery to cycle through the paintings and again to zoom into a full size detailed image. Enjoy!
